How Do Scissors Work

How do Scissors work
Scissors are used to cut things up. When you're cutting things, scissors help to keep the edges sharp and straight. It is an instrument used to cut different types of cloth and paper.

There are many different types of scissors. Some of which can only be used for one type of thing. For example, if you're using a dressmaker shear it is only good for cutting fabric or cloth. If you’re using embroidery scissors, it is easier to hold and is used if you do a lot of cutting. When you do a lot of cutting sometimes heavy scissors can cause cramps in your muscles, so embroidery scissors are made with a light handle and they are comfortable to hold.

Scissors are made with two blades - one on top of each other, that are screwed together. They are used by inserting your thumb and your finger. When you’re applying force to the two blades, the edges meet each other. The force that was used to press the blades together, makes the sharp blades cut through any thin material like paper or cloth. This is using a lever-action because you’re squeezing the handles to cut an object like fabric or paper.

Most people just use scissors without bothering how they really work. This piece of writing is written to teach people more about the simple mechanism of scissors.
